China tried to derail UNSC condemnation of Pulwama terror attack

The UN Security Council took one week to condemn Pulwama attack. The statement issued on Thursday read: “the members of the Security Council condemned in the strongest terms the heinous and cowardly suicide bombing in Jammu and Kashmir, which resulted in over 40 Indian paramilitary forces dead and dozens wounded on February 14, 2019, for which Jaish-e-Mohammad has claimed responsibility”

But now it has turned out that China was actively trying to water down the wordings while Pakistan was trying hard to prevent issuance of a statement, resulting in a delay. But the US was firmly backing India’s stand and it ensured that the UNSC condemn the dastardly terror attack in strongest words.
