Prime Minsiter Narendra Modi on Friday laid the foundation stone for a beautification project for the Kashi Vishanath temple in Varanasi.
Titled as ‘Kashi Vishwanath Mandir Vistarikaran-Saundarayakaran Yojana’, the project will be taken up in four phases.
The Rs 600 crore project will create a dedicated pathway of 50 feet wide in the 45,000 square metres around the temple.
It will help ease congestion in the narrow pathways between the four entrances and the temple.
The beautification plans also include building help desks, hospital, shops, cafeterias and rest houses.
