Eat raspberry to keep away from type-2 diabetes

Chances are many of us are suffering from type-2 diabetes, a health condition responsible for  increasing the level of blood sugar, but blissfully unaware of it. If anyone is witnessing extreme weight loss and constantly feeling thirsty, the person may be a borderline type-2 diabetic.

But the good news is that one can get rid of these symptoms if one makes certain dietary changes. One such change should be eating raspberry fruit with the breakfast.

New studies recently published in journals like Obesity and Annals of Nutrition and Metabolism, shed light on the properties in raspberries that could help prevent and manage diabetes.

In one of the studies, people with pre-diabetes and insulin resistance were made to eat the fruit for breakfast. It was found that their blood sugar levels were decreased two hours later.

Like other berries, raspberry is rich in polyphenols, the chemical compounds that help prevent cell damage, fight disease, and boost immunity. Polyphenols are believed to boost insulin sensitivity and slow down the rate of absorption of sugar in the body, hence lower the risk of type-2 diabetes.

So whenever you experience constant thirst or rapid weight loss, first try eating raspberry before visiting your general physician.
