This is one incident you don’t get to hear about very often. A unique situation arises a few minutes after a Kuala Lumpur bound flight takes off from the King Abdul Aziz International Airport in Jeddah. A mother says that she had forgotten to take her baby along from the waiting area of the terminal, while boarding.
The distraught mother must have pleaded hard. The pilot hurriedly makes contact with the air traffic controller and seeks permission to return.
“This flight is requesting to come back, a passenger forgot her baby in the waiting area, the poor thing. May God be with us. Can we come back or what?”
When the operators in the control room begin checking the protocol for returning, the pilot insists: “We told you, a passenger left her baby in the terminal and refuses to continue the flight,”
The operator gives the green signal, exclaiming: “Ok, head back to the gate. This is totally a new one for us!”
The tape of this conversation went viral on social media, bringing a lot laurels for the good Samaritan pilot.
