The United States has cautioned Pakistan that any further terrorist attack on India would be “extremely problematic”.

“We need to see Pakistan taking concrete and sustained action to reign in the terrorist groups, mainly the Jaish-e-Mohammed and the Lashkar-e-Taiba in order to ensure that we don’t have re-escalation (of tension) in the region,” a senior official from the White House is reported to have said on Wednesday.

The warning comes a day after China pledged its support to Pakistan to protect its territorial integrity and dignity. China’s assurance came on Tuesday during a high-level meeting between Pakistan foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Chinese state councillor and foreign minister, Wang YiIslamabad. The situation in Jammu and Kashmir also figured in the bilateral talk and the joint statement called India for a re-look on its Kashmir policy.

AT the same time media reports suggest Pakistan is deploying weaponized drones along Uri, Poonch, Rajouri, Nowshera and Sunderbani sectors. A report in India Today says that Indian security forces have shot down several Pakistani drones that tried to sneak into Indian side.

The report also said “surveillance and reconnaissance drones can be equipped with a range of weapons, such as missiles and laser-guided bombs, to strike targets on land or in the air.”

Immediately after the incident, Army, Special Operation Group of Police and CRPF swung into action and launched a manhunt to nab the culprits.

The incident occurred even as Pakistan troops are carrying out heavy shelling in the Mankote sector of the district.

On Thursday last, a National Conference worker was seriously injured in Anantnag and a civilian was killed in Tral, a day after a civilian was kidnapped and later found dead in Pulwama.
